So how are you finding working from home due to Covid-19? A bit stressful, right? It is indeed – a 2017 study conducted by the United Nations found that those working from home reported higher levels of stress. That study seems a lifetime ago – no pandemic to deal with and the uncertainty of it all.
So how can we manage stress and maintain our health and wellness while telecommuting? Here are some tips:

--Keep your morning routine – shower, dress, have your morning coffee/tea – it will give you structure and will help keep calm and productive
--Maintain a regular schedule – if you were in the office from 9a-5p keep that schedule while working from home - remember to take breaks and walk away from the screen when feeling overwhelmed. Once 5pm rolls around, it is time to disconnect and decompress. Zoom fatigue is real!
--Set realistic expectations -some days you’ll be 100% productive and some days you’ll do just enough to get by – this is true at the office, right?
--Designate a place in your home as your home office – anywhere except your bed!
--Keep active –go for a walk, run, a quick bike ride or take a free online exercise class - check out @j_bro2020 on Instagram or Practical Coaching Solution on Facebook at noon Monday-Friday
--Maintain a healthy diet and remember to keep hydrated. Take your vitamins and get enough sleep – these are vital for keeping your immune system strong
--Stay inform but limit media consumption – too much information is a major source of stress in the best of times.
--Last but not least, take time to stay connected with family and friends –a quick phone call or video chat is great - texting does not count!
So, given that the COVID-19 continues to surge in the US, working remotely will be our new normal much longer than anyone anticipated managing stress is key to its success! What are some of the things you are doing to manage stress we don’t mention here? Share them with us, would love to hear from you.
